This past weekend we nearly finished all the electric wiring for the dome!
Saturday, I was pretty good about getting out to Hearthwood at a reasonable time. Dad, Bob and Kathy all helped to get the remaining wires put in the first floor, and move on to the basement.
We also began assembling our tub/shower unit, but noticed it had developed a small crack in the bottom and so decided to move it back to the basement and purchase a stand-alone tub for the first floor.
Jean spent the afternoon at a County meeting on the Popes Head Creek Watershed, the creek that circumnavigates Hearthwood.
By Sunday, we had all but a couple outdoor outlets wired!
Jean managed to put up the fireblocking in the first floor, a vastly smaller amount than I’d previously thought we needed.
I stumbled around in the dusky light of the dome on Sunday evening; a can light installed here, a sconce receptacle box there, and even got the oven’s range hood duct vent installed in the side of the house. Definitely an exhausting weekend.
Oh, and three of us made three separate trips to Home Depot on Sunday. Yikes.
This next weekend, we’ll power through the remaining electric wires, run our Cat5e in conduits, our co-axial and our speaker wire. Whew! And, if we have the time and/or people, we might just get to do some more siding!
I promise I’ll upload some photos soon. You don’t know how unconducive regular film is to uploading photos for webpages is. Or maybe you do:)
